Dr Pauline Renaud

Pauline Renaud (PhD) is a visiting lecturer at City, University of London, teaching in the International Journalism MA programme. She also currently works as a research assistant on a project developed in partnership with Dart Center Europe, Rory Peck Trust and Safely Held Spaces to create an ethical decision-making toolkit for journalists covering crises and conflicts.

Pauline completed her PhD in 2023, investigating journalistic authority in the face of disinformation. Passionate about questions related to journalism and democracy, trust in the media, and challenges in the digital age, she is an internal contributor to the International Observatory on Information and Democracy’s inaugural report due late 2024.

Pauline has over 15 years’ experience as a reporter and editor. After graduating from La Sorbonne in 2007, she worked as a broadcast journalist in France. In 2008, she moved to the UK, beginning a career as a financial reporter and editor at PA Media and Thomson Reuters. She has also contributed to several media in Switzerland, French Guiana and Mauritius.
